We've converted many spreadsheets into web-based calculators for clients, so when this project came up it was a perfect fit — we iterated on the layout and functionality during dev, ending up with a polished tool to support sales in new and existing markets.
The client provided a spreadsheet that their engineers had assembled, full of calculations for pool heating efficiency that even took the ambient air temperature into account.
We turned this into a clean UX flow for prospective customers on the client’s website, splitting up the complex spreadsheet into a series of bite-sized stages.
• Pulls in regional temperatures for the customer’s postcode via an internal API call to use commercial data
• Generates a shareable report to educate the customer about the factors involved
• Embedded into theclient’s marketing website for a native feel
• Translates into French for Canadian market
• Configurable with metric/imperial to support the US market
• Handles varying products and SKUs in each market
• Configurable with custom branding for trade suppliers
• Future-proofs old report links by ensuring backwards compatibility and migrating data
